New Eddystone Rock
While exploring the East Behm Canal a small island was sighted with a tall singular rock. From a distance it reminded Vancouver of the lighthouse off Plymouth, so he named it “New Eddystone ” Landing on the island for breakfast they were visited by three small canoes who’s occupants through signs, invited the British party to visit their village. Vancouver declined owing to the previous bad experience at Escape Point.
